Copyright & Likeness Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Lip syncing is personal. It works on faces and voices — yours, your pets', people you love, characters you made. This page is the plain-English version of the one rule that matters: only create what you have the right to create.

Faces and consent

  • Fair game: your own photos; photos of people who have agreed to appear; your minor children (if you are their parent or guardian); pets; characters and artwork you created.
  • Not allowed: animating another person's face without their consent — especially to make them appear to say things they didn't say. This includes public figures, colleagues, ex-partners, and children who are not yours.
  • Never allowed: content intended to deceive (fake endorsements, political misinformation), harassment, or sexualized content involving anyone's likeness without consent.

Audio

The audio you upload plays as-is in the result. You are responsible for having the rights to it — your own recordings, licensed tracks, or material you are otherwise permitted to use. Song clips in particular carry two layers of rules: the composition and the recording, plus whatever each publishing platform requires for posted video. When in doubt, use audio you made or that is explicitly licensed for reuse.

What we store

Nothing. Your uploaded media is used only to produce your render, and the site keeps no copy of it. This also means we cannot "remove" a video you created — it was never ours to keep. Renders live at a 24-hour link you control.

Takedowns and complaints

If you believe someone used this tool to create content using your face or voice without consent, or you believe your copyrighted audio was used improperly, write to support@lipsyncer.shop with:

  • What the content is and where it is published;
  • Why you believe it violates this policy or the law;
  • Evidence you are the person (or rights holder) affected — or their authorized representative.

Because we hold no user media and no accounts, there is usually nothing on our side to take down — but we can block access to the site for accounts or tokens we can identify as abusive, and we cooperate with legitimate legal processes. We also forward credible complaints where the law requires.

If you post your own results publicly

Add context when the video could be mistaken for real: caption it honestly, and avoid formats that imitate news or official statements. A clearly for-fun singing pet video needs no disclaimer; a video where a real person appears to say something they never said does — and you shouldn't make that one at all.
